    Chester Road

       An 00 gauge layout by

       Robert Denton

Originally built as a test track to display and test DCC locomotives, this layout demonstrates how a small layout can provide interest abd fun and at the same time be rewarding to operate.  It is an advanced shunting layout.  The majority of locos are sound fitted.

Chester Road is a fictitious location and is envisaged to be on the North Eastern/Midland border.  The scene depicts an engine shed and refuelling depot in the steam-to-diesel transition period.

Robert was, until recently, involved in the design and manufacture of electronic model railway accessories, and some are to be seen working on the layout, which look particularly effective in low light.  He's just the man to answer those technical questions you may have!

The layout is normally operated by 2 members
and fits in the back of the car.

Layout footprint is 6' x 2' with an
operating space of 9' x 6'

The layout has its own lighting and requires a 13amp
power point within 2 metres of the layout

Insurance value is £4000
(with no one item valued over £1000).
