Possil Halt

This 00 gauge layout is now ready
for appearing on the exhibition circuit.

Possil Halt station lies a few miles north of Glasgow.  It was part of the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway, serving as the terminus for passenger services.

There was a goods yard at the site of the station, but all were closed after the 1963 Beeching Report

A scrapyard now occupies most of the site, although the station building and goods shed are still standing, albeit derelict.

Boyhood memories (and modeller’s licence) have been used to bring the station back to life.  It is now depicted as being part of a preserved railway line, serving both the local community and the ever-flourishing tourist industry.
